Consent to informational and advertising mailings

This is an unofficial translation published for information only. Only the Russian version is legally binding: the Russian original.

Edition date: 10 September 2026, edition 2. Given in accordance with Articles 9 and 15 of Russian Federal Law No. 152-FZ of 27.07.2006 “On Personal Data” (hereinafter, 152-FZ) and part 1 of Article 18 of Russian Federal Law No. 38-FZ of 13.03.2006 “On Advertising” (hereinafter, the Law on Advertising).

By checking the mailing-consent field in the enquiry form or in the subscription form on the diff.legal website and submitting that form, I, the personal-data subject (hereinafter, the “Subject”), acting freely, of my own will, and in my own interest, give the operator specified in section 1 (hereinafter, the “Operator”) my consent to the processing of my personal data in order to send me informational and advertising messages, and to the receipt of such messages via the contact I specify, on the terms set out below.

1. Operator

Personal-data operator, registration number 77-26-560740 in the Roskomnadzor operator register, Moscow. Contact for personal-data processing, consent-withdrawal, and mailing opt-out matters: support@diff.legal.

2. List of personal data

  • one contact of the Subject’s choice: an email address, a phone number, or a Telegram username;
  • the selected mailing channel;
  • if the check is made in the enquiry form — the link between the consent and that enquiry;
  • information about the consent and its withdrawal: the edition and checksum of the consent text, the form in which it was given, and the dates and times of the consent and of its withdrawal.

Special categories and biometric personal data are not requested and are not processed.

3. Processing purposes

The processing purpose is the promotion of services: sending the Subject informational and advertising messages from diff.legal, namely reviews of changes in legislation and practice for technology businesses, invitations to events, and information about diff.legal services.

Messages are sent only via the channel selected by the Subject:

  • email — letters to the specified address;
  • phone number — SMS messages to the specified number; messenger messages are not sent to this number;
  • Telegram — messages to the specified username.

The consent does not cover the consideration of an enquiry or web analytics: the Consent to personal-data processing for responding to an enquiry and a separate choice in the cookie window apply to those.

4. List of actions and processing methods

The consent is given for the following actions: collection, recording, systematisation, accumulation, storage, clarification (updating, amendment), retrieval, use, transfer (provision of access) to the mailing service where the sending of messages is entrusted to it, and to the Operator’s email service provider for sending mailing letters, blocking, deletion, destruction. Processing is carried out by mixed means: both with and without the use of automation tools. The data are stored in the application database on a server in Russia; technical storage is ensured by the hosting provider.

The Operator may entrust the sending of messages to a mailing service that processes the data on the territory of the Russian Federation, under a contract concluded in compliance with part 3 of Article 6 of 152-FZ. The service receives only the data necessary for sending messages. Mailing letters that the Operator sends from its own mailbox pass through the Operator’s email service; its provider ensures the storage and transmission of electronic correspondence.

No cross-border transfer of personal data takes place, except for the mailing on Telegram. If Telegram is selected as the mailing channel, messages are sent through the Telegram service, whose servers may be located outside the Russian Federation. Public AI services and the website’s public reference service for AI agents do not receive mailing data.

5. Legal basis

The Subject’s consent to the processing of his or her personal data for the purpose of promoting services through direct contact by means of communication (para. 1 of part 1 of Article 6, Article 9, part 1 of Article 15 of 152-FZ), and the recipient’s prior consent to receiving advertising via communication networks (part 1 of Article 18 of the Law on Advertising).

After the consent is withdrawn, information about the consent and its withdrawal is retained in order to confirm compliance with the law (part 2 of Article 9, para. 7 of part 1 of Article 6 of 152-FZ): the burden of proving that consent was obtained lies with the Operator (part 3 of Article 9, part 1 of Article 15 of 152-FZ, part 1 of Article 18 of the Law on Advertising).

6. Term of the consent and withdrawal procedure

The consent is valid until it is withdrawn. The Subject may at any time withdraw the consent and opt out of the mailing by one of the following methods:

  • by an email to support@diff.legal with the subject line “Opt-out from the diff.legal mailing” and the contact to which the mailing is sent;
  • via the mailing opt-out link, if the message contains one;
  • by replying “Unsubscribe” to a mailing message, if the channel allows replies; every message states the opt-out method.

Upon receiving a withdrawal, the Operator immediately stops the processing of personal data for mailing purposes, including the sending of messages, and within 30 days destroys the personal data processed for the mailing, including at the mailing service where sending has been entrusted to it, except for information about the fact, date, and edition of the consent and about its withdrawal, together with the contact to which it relates. This information is retained for no longer than 3 years from the date of withdrawal in order to confirm compliance with the law and is not used for the mailing. Withdrawal of consent to the mailing does not affect the consideration of an enquiry.

7. Subject’s confirmations

  • the specified contact relates to me and the data provided is accurate;
  • I have read the Personal-data processing policy;
  • I understand that consent to the mailing is voluntary and is not a condition of submitting an enquiry or of services being provided;
  • I have been informed of the right to withdraw the consent and opt out of the mailing at any time;
  • I confirm the consent with a separate check; the fact of confirmation, the edition of the text, and the time are saved.
