AI transformation readiness assessment
For lawyers, law firms and legal departments. We run an initial assessment: tasks, processes, documents and the boundaries of data use, the team's readiness — and turn the findings into a roadmap for introducing AI into legal work.
The assessment is run by lawyers who use AI in their own daily work: we test on ourselves what we offer to teams.
It suits teams that are only choosing their first AI tools and teams that already use AI and want to bring order to their processes. Before the start we agree the scope of the assessment: whom we interview, which processes and documents we examine, and what the resulting roadmap will be. Materials on AI in legal departments are collected in the knowledge base.
01 / scope of the assessment
How the work runs
01
Interviews with the team
We run structured interviews with lawyers and heads of the legal function: tasks, the working process, current tools and constraints.
02
Documents and data
We analyse the makeup of the legal work: recurring tasks, typical documents and data, confidentiality requirements and the boundaries of data use in AI tools.
03
Processes and guidelines
We assess the readiness of the processes: where AI reduces the routine load and where a lawyer's review is required; what guidelines and data-handling rules the team needs.
04
Roadmap
We draw up an AI transformation roadmap: priority areas, the order of implementation, risks, constraints and next steps.
02 / result and boundaries
What you get
You receive a map of the current state of the legal work and an AI transformation roadmap with priorities, stages and the boundaries of AI use. The makeup of the materials is agreed before work begins; the cost and timing depend on the size of the team and the scope of the assessment and are fixed in the proposal.
Implementing and configuring AI tools is a separate stage after the assessment. Team training is covered by diff.academy educational programmes or agreed separately. Legal opinions on specific cases and the team's client tasks come from the team's own lawyers: the assessment does not replace legal work.
03 / questions
Before we start
We do not use AI yet. Is it too early for an assessment?
No. The assessment works at the start too: it shows which tasks to begin with, what data and guidelines to prepare, and what to expect from AI tools. The roadmap is built from the team's current state.
What happens to our documents and data?
For the initial assessment, general information about processes and anonymised examples are enough. Documents and confidential details are shared only after an NDA over an agreed secure channel; public AI services are not used for client documents.
How is this different from training at diff.academy?
The assessment is a service for a specific team: we examine its tasks and processes and draw up a roadmap. diff.academy is an educational project about a lawyer's work with AI; enrolment in its programmes is not open yet.
Discuss the assessment
One contact is enough. The scope of the assessment, the cost and the timing are agreed before work begins.
